On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the Union Cabinet will meet for the first time since the terror assault in Pahalgam on April 22 that claimed 26 lives. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Tuesday that the Indian military has his full confidence and “complete operational freedom to decide on the mode, targets, and timing” of India’s reaction, reaffirming that it is the country’s “national resolve to deal a crushing blow to terrorism.”

Pakistan, meanwhile, warned New Delhi that there will be repercussions after India threatened to launch a military operation against it within the next 24 to 36 hours, claiming “credible intelligence.” According to Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister for Information, the Indian administration was getting ready to attack on the basis of “baseless and concocted allegations” that Pakistan was involved in the Pahalgam terror incident.
