Karnataka on Alert, Follows Centre’s Security Directives: CM Siddaramaiah

The Chief Minister of Karnataka stated that the State is strictly following all directives from the Central government, and security has been tightened at key locations such as dams as part of increased safety measures.

Mandya: Following India’s recent airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Thursday that Karnataka has stepped up security across the State as per the Central government’s instructions.

Speaking to the media at Gejjalagere near Maddur in Mandya district, the Chief Minister said that precautionary drills were being carried out and that vital installations, including dams, were under enhanced security. “We are following all the guidelines issued by the Centre. Our security forces are on high alert, and necessary measures are being taken to ensure public safety,” he said.

Siddaramaiah, who was in Mandya for a series of official and personal engagements, stressed that the government is not taking any chances and is fully prepared for any unforeseen situation.

When asked about special prayers being conducted in temples under the Muzrai Department, the Chief Minister said the move was initiated by Minister Ramalinga Reddy after consulting with him.

Addressing criticism from the BJP regarding Pakistani nationals in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah clarified that almost all of them had been deported. “Only a handful of people, especially in Mysuru, have approached the courts. Apart from those cases, the rest have been sent back. I don’t have the exact numbers, though,” he added.

The heightened alert comes in the backdrop of “Operation Sindoor,” where loitering munitions developed in Bengaluru were used to strike terrorist targets across the border.
